It all started with two people who fell in love...
Can I just start by saying, how much fun I had helping Darren plan and set up his surprise proposal?! Seeing, his now fiancé, Anna's face so surprised and happy was just the best moment, and I am so grateful Darren asked me to capture it all for them.
It all started back in March when Darren inquired through my website wanting to hire a photographer for his proposal over the summer. He had a vision to create the most perfect evening to ask Anna to spend the rest of her life with him. Over the course of a few months, we talked about a beach set up; planning out how to get to the spot; ways to make the proposal as stress free as one can for the person getting down on one knee; and all the logistics in between. The plan was set, and the date was picked. Now all the fun begins!

step one: The set up
Darren had a specific idea in mind. Flowers on the beach with a little area made just for the two of them to share such a special moment. After sharing a few photos of inspo back and forth, we decided to go with a blanket cornered with vases holding beautiful white florals to add a little extra romance. {Of course, I cannot take credit for this set up alone. Thanks to my amazing husband who helped me carry everything out and cut all the stems to perfection while I worked on my supervisor skills and couldn't make up my mind on where the set up should be...He loves me for my indecisiveness the most.}
Also HUGE shout out to Stephanie at Pensaflora Blooms, who I met at The Farm in Pensacola a few weeks before. I sent her our inspo pictures and price range, and She found a stunning mix of garden roses and carnations that filled the vases perfectly and smelt amazing!
Once everything was all set up, I picked a spot on the beach nearby and got my camera all ready for the big moment. To keep everything a tad bit easier, I had Darren exchange my number with Anna's sister that way I could text her that day instead of him and help decrease any extra distractions.
STEP Two: The moment we have all been waiting for
I get the text "walking down" from Brooke, Anna's sister, and then just a few short moments later I see Darren, Anna, and Brooke all headed to the beach. I think you can tell by the look on Anna's face that she was pretty surprised. With family close by watching. the sound of the ocean, and a gorgeous sunset, Darren got down on one knee and asked Anna to marry him.
Step three: a few more photos before taking your new fiance to dinner
We finished the evening with a few more photos while the sun set and then sent them to dinner to soak up all the feels of being engaged.
...A side note and one to hang around for...A few dinner recommendations if you're in Perdido Key, FL...the Jellyfish, a cute martini bar/restaurant with amazing lumpia and poke; Cobalt, I think this is the best place to watch the sunset and it makes it even better that their bushwhackers and dinner options are some of the best; and last BUT certainly not least, Perdido Sports Bar, home of the best wings and homemade ranch I have ever tasted.
